
AmeriCorps ACCESS
The FRC is an AmeriCorps ACCESS program site. Each member attends monthly trainings focusing on cross cultural barriers and issues facing Chatham County. Members provide emergency services to those at need including food, clothing and other emergency vouchers as well as transportation to medical and human services appointments.

Mission: To help immigrant and refugee communities gain better access to human services, become economically self-sufficient and build bridges of understanding between immigrant and mainstream communities.
Objectives:
- Provide ESL, citizenship education, social services, case management, disaster preparedness and related services to immigrant and refugees.
- Provide leadership development training to AmeriCorps staff.
- Provide community development training to community and faith based partner organizations to help them achieve sustainability.
Population/Area Served: Burke, Catawba, Forsyth, Guilford, Wake, Surry, Alamance, Mecklenberg, Duplin, Durham, Orange, and Chatham counties.

Full-Time is 1700 hours in a year, you receive a $11,400/Month Living allowance (minus taxes), Individual health insurance is at no cost to the member. After their 1700 hours they are eligible for a educational award of just under $5000. Full time members are eligible to apply for daycare subsidy for children enrolled in approved daycare.
